Patricia Fouracres loves to make her guests gasp – but with excitement, not fright. “I am just delighted when I see my guests ‘gasping at a sight," explains Patricia. “This can be a great day on the Great Barrier Reef, their joy as they watch the sun set at Uluru (Ayers Rock), or their excitement as they enter the Sir Stamford Hotel in Sydney,” she continues.

New Zealand elicits gasps from her Odysseys guests, as well. “If we get great weather at Mount Cook National Park, it’s breathtakingly beautiful when the sky is clear with the mountains visible. And Milford Sound never fails,” Patricia says.
The Aussie native took a circuitous journey on her way to becoming a tour director. With a university degree in Medical Science, she worked in a teaching hospital for a number of years, then joined Qantas Airways as a Customer Service Manager. From there, she earned her certificate in guiding, became a guide for the Sydney Opera House, and later became a tour director for several different companies, leading tours throughout both Australia and New Zealand before coming to Odysseys.
