“The hills are alive …” We all know the next line, of course, and in our mind’s eye, share a common image of Julie Andrews spinning and singing on a hilltop, surrounded by the majestic Alps. The movies – and The Sound of Music in this case – have given us a shared point of reference that transcends borders. As you read about the nexus between films and travel, you might remember some other films that spurred your wanderlust.
We introduce you to two Odysseys guests who don’t seem to need any outside influence to hit the road: Beth and Dave Macaulay of Huntley, IL, 14-time travelers with five tours booked with us over the next 18 months or so. Africa remains one of the Macaulays’ favorite destinations; it just might become yours after you read about some of our safaris and tours to this fascinating continent.
Finally, we say goodbye to longtime Odysseys tour director Antonio (Tony) Marangabassa, who passed away unexpectedly in May of this year. We already miss this special man.
We hope this summer finds you able to enjoy some pursuits that you may have had to put aside over the past two years. And we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you on an Odysseys small group tour in the not-too-distant future.
